Water temperature checks
The monthly legionella and scald readings: hot outlet, mixed outlet, and the little-used outlet flush. Rename the outlets to match your building.
Weekly outlet flushing
The little-used outlets — empty rooms, spare bathrooms — flushed through weekly so water never stands. Pairs with the monthly temperature checks.
Weekly fire safety checks
Call point test, doors, routes, extinguishers, panel. Rotate the call point each week so the whole building gets tested in turn.
Monthly emergency lighting test
The flick test, zone by zone: kill the supply briefly and watch the lights hold. The annual full-duration test is a contractor's job — this proves the months between.
Window restrictor checks
Every openable window above ground level: restrictor fitted, holding at 100mm, not removable without a tool. Run it room by room.
Nurse call system test
Test calls from rooms, answered at the panel — and cords where a resident on the floor could actually reach them. Rotate rooms so the whole building gets tested.
Hoist and sling checks
A weekly look at the kit that lifts people: sling stitching, hoist batteries, brakes — and whether the six-monthly LOLER examination is still in date.
Bed and rail safety check
A monthly look at each profiling bed: rails, mattress, controls, brakes. Run it per room, with the room on the record.
